That sounds like a really fun game. Plus you can also be able to help other people. That's in fact hitting two birds in one stone, right?![]()
Those who wish to donate food to the hungry, while improving their vocabulary, should visit Freerice.com. Words are shown with several other words, as a definition of the initial word. You select the correct word definition, if you are right, you collect 100 grains of rice, which will be donated to the hungry, through the United Nations. You will have a second chance to guess the meaning of the word, if you are wrong. It is a fun game.

Wow this is a great idea for donating. I really hope to see methods like this one in the future. I'll definitely check out the website.
Thank you for this share. I immediately went to check out the website, and it is really innovative and awesome. We accumulated 3000 grains...and counting! Lol. I will pass this on to language schools as a tool for English students.
They are actually affiliated to the United Nations' - World Food Program (wfp.org). On their site I saw there is also a game to play on Facebook that I still need to check out. Children in the real world get food through this...
But the vocabulary one is great. Thank you so much for passing this along, really valuable.![]()
This is great. I have signed up and have completed several games.
Thanks for sharing.
this is great! Thank you for sharing this website. I'll have to post it on my twitter and FB and share the word!
What a wonderful idea! Thank you so much for sharing this great site![]()
This is a really cool thing they have set up there! It is so cool that it is something fun to do in your spare time, and also be able to help people that do not have any food. Thanks for the share!![]()
In the opening post it says every question you earn 100 grains but actually you earn 10. Nevertheless this is an amazing thing for an amazing cause and is the next step to fighting poverty and hunger.
Is 100 grains of rice really a meal? Well I answered enough questions to get 300 grains of rice. I hope it helps.
When I was in school a few years ago my english teacher would have us play this game. It really is a good idea, and it would be cool if other stuff incorperated this idea of donated. You learn plus help others, what is better than that?
Thanks for sharing! I've used the site before, but I needed a friendly reminder. It's fun and it feels so good to be donating to children in need, especially when I don't have much extra money right now.
That's really cool. I never heard about this program before. I'm very glad you shared it. Only thing to question here is how true is the donation process? You said it's supported by the UN, so more than likely it's pretty solid. However, a lot of donation and charity efforts that are supposed to go towards feeding the hungry, do not, unfortunately.
This is such a great idea. I'm going to play for a good while and get a lot of rice donated.
1, Where's the proof of concept that this actually happens ?
2, Why do they use rice ?!
If you really want to feed the hungry grow potatoes, most efficient crop to grow!
The idea is good, but I find donating rice quite foolish, rice takes quite alot of effort to grow which brings back my #1 question.
Due to the fact they are not being smart I doubt the credibility.
Just donated 300 grains of rice without a mistake
I think ill add this to my daily morning routine, I like helping even though i dont have the money to actually donate anything
Wow! People are really very creative with their minds when they set their mind to anything!
To make a difference in a unique way like this is an opportunity. In our Non-Gov org, personal touch is the word. Now, we have another medioum to be of service to communities. Really cool!
I'm going to check this out! Thanks, buddy!
